Benchmarks and Common Assessments
Grades 6-8: Benchmark and common assessments are used to help identify student mastery and areas of need associated with grade level standards. Sixth through eighth grade students will take common unit assessments in math, English language arts, and social studies at the end of each content unit throughout the school year, as well as a district writing benchmark. Sixth through eighth grade students will also take district assessments in science three times per year. All common unit assessments and science benchmarks will be administered online through PowerSchool Assessment. For more information : www.cmcss.net/testing/
TCAP Tennessee Comprehensive Achievement Program
Our students will be taking the TCAP assessment during the second semester. Information about this assessment can be found on the state website: www.tn.gov/education/assessment/tnready.html. One of the requirements for this test is the use of a test proctor/monitor in the testing room. The test proctor/monitor would undergo a short training session on the day of the test at 7 AM (approximately 15-20 minutes) and would be responsible for assisting the teacher with the administration of the test until approximately 10:30. If you are able to volunteer your time, please contact the Testing Coordinator 931-503-3288. We appreciate your investment in education.
